- AmiGram -
A General-Purpose Tool for Mutltimodal Corpus Annotation
|
 |
Description
-
AmiGram is the AMI Graphical Representation and Annotation Module. It allows for the time-line based annotation
of NXT corpora in a layer based environment. AmiGram is a further developed annotation tool,
which descends from the NITE annotation tool GRAM.
AmiGram is based on NXT, an XML language developed in the NITE
project for the structuring and representation of corpora.
Unlike special-purpose tools, AmiGram's approach is to integrate all necessary functionality into one
monolithic program. By doing so, it allows for the editing of multiple annotation layers
in parallel, visually comparing different layers as well as examining them. As
the common denominator for these, NXT's layer-based topology is displayed in
AmiGram's Observable Track Annotation Board (OTAB), a flexible display
depicting atomic annotation blocks in a vertically stacked fashion with a
horizontal time-line as in a musical score.
AmiGram also allows for running an arbitrary number of media players.
